Airport Marina Ford is hiring an experienced Automotive Transmission Technician to join our high-volume Ford service department in Los Angeles, CA. We are looking for a skilled Transmission Mechanic with strong experience in automatic and manual transmission diagnostics, repair, and rebuilding — preferably with Ford vehicles. This is a critical role within our service team, responsible for advanced drivetrain diagnostics and ensuring vehicles are repaired to manufacturer standards. Position Details * Full-time position * 8-hour shifts * In-person role in Los Angeles, CA (commuting required) Key Responsibilities * Perform advanced transmission diagnostics using scan tools and road testing * Diagnose and repair automatic and manual transmissions * Remove, disassemble, inspect, rebuild, and reinstall transmission systems * Repair or replace clutches, torque converters, valve bodies, seals, and internal components * Perform transmission fluid services, flushes, filter replacements, and reseals * Conduct pre- and post-repair road tests to verify proper operation * Accurately document repair orders and communicate findings with Service Advisors * Follow Ford factory repair procedures, labor operations, and torque specifications * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment * Stay current with Ford technical bulletins and training programs Qualifications * Minimum 2+ years of experience in transmission repair and drivetrain diagnostics * Experience as a Transmission Technician, Automotive Technician, or Drivetrain Specialist * Ford certification or manufacturer training preferred * Strong understanding of automatic, manual, and electronic transmission systems * Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic data * Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills * High school diploma or equivalent * Valid driver’s license with clean driving record * Must pass background check and drug screening Compensation & Benefits * Pay based on experience and certifications * Medical and dental insurance * 401(k) retirement plan * Paid time off and vacation * Paid Ford factory training * Career advancement opportunities * Employee vehicle purchase plans * Family-owned and operated dealership * Long-term job security * Flexible work schedule * Employee discounts on vehicles, parts, and service About Airport Marina Ford Airport Marina Ford has proudly served the Los Angeles community for years, delivering exceptional customer care and expert automotive service.
